Your business will only be charged one rate regardless of which American Express Card your customer uses. But other networks’ rate can vary based on card type, charging higher rates for premium and business cards.
Certain transactions may incur higher fees.
Fees apply when your business processes a credit card payment, but they can vary depending on: 1) the sale amount; 2) how the transaction is processed - online, over the phone, or with a physical card; 3) when you submit transactions to your processor for payment; and other factors. Check your statements to see what these fees are.
Some fees aren’t charged every month.
Take a look at your past few statements because some fees may not show up every month, like fees for insufficient funds and Chargebacks. If you’ve never noticed these extras, you may be paying more than you think.
